iPad

Was all this whole presentation of the iPad necessary? Even though we all know that this is a marketing strategy, let’s say that in this case it has not gone very smoothly for Apple since the iPad is not what we all were expecting.
For the first time at Apple, this device is not intended for the general public but to a business audience, that it, for a particular audience. The truth is that the iPad falls midway between the iPhone and Mac, and it has nothing revolutionary at all.

What is the iPad lacking of?
1º It has no camera, neither for photos nor videos. It was thought that the iPad would have two cameras, but in the end it has none.
2º The screen is not the ideal one to read books.
3º It has no USB ports and the iPad cannot be connected to the TV.
4º It cannot show webpages that have been created with Flash. That is not something that Apple is willing to implement in its devices in the nearest future.
5º It has no multitasking so, like the iPhone, in order to open an application, all the others applications must be closed.

Another possibility is Steve Jobs did not want to reveal all the functions that the iPad will have. Probably, this device will go on sale like a limited version (the one with WiFi will be out this March and the 3G one will be out this April). Then, we will have to wait some more months for the second generation of iPads that will update the functionalities of this device and will offer new features that will be worth paying.

Users will finally have to consider whether the price of the iPad is right: it will come out in the market at about $500. In the market there are other tablets like the iPad, and perhaps this product does not meet many of needs that it should. Time will tell.
